City of Osage City – Job Openings
City of Osage City is accepting applications for Electric Distribution Lineman position. The Electric Distribution Lineman performs duties involved in the city’s electrical distribution lines. The employee in this position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled, technical, and maintenance work in the planning, construction, operation, repairing the city’s electric distribution facilities and systems. Experience recommended but not required.
The City of Osage City is taking applications for a Power Plant Operator position. The Power Plant Operator performs duties involved in the city’s electrical generation in the plant. The employee in this position is responsible for maintaining continuous operation of the generators in the plant and delivering the necessary electrical power to Osage City. The job responsibilities of the power plant operator include monitoring equipment operations for any possible malfunctions and to take corrective action should a malfunction occur. This employee is responsible for putting generating units and related auxiliary equipment online to produce electrical energy. With the development of the 1.7 MW solar farm, duties will include maintaining and operating the photovoltaic generating facility in conjunction with the electrical distribution department. Experience recommended but not required.
Applicant must meet minimum qualifications per job description, safety procedures, willing to contribute to a team environment, and can clearly and concisely express ideas both orally and in writing to maintain effective working relationships with other city employees and elected public officials.
